Supabets adds crypto deposits through EnterPay partnership
The South African betting operator expands its payment options with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and other cryptocurrencies.
South Africa.- South African betting operator Supabets has expanded its payment offering with cryptocurrency deposits through a new partnership with EnterPay, giving customers another way to fund their accounts.
Supabets announced the partnership on August 11, saying customers can now make deposits using “popular cryptocurrencies”, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and more.
The operator said the partnership is part of its commitment to providing “innovative, secure and convenient payment solutions”, giving customers greater flexibility and an enhanced gaming experience.
According to Supabets’ cryptocurrency payment terms, EnterPay is the payment technology provider. Customers transfer their selected cryptocurrency to a wallet address generated for the transaction and must use the specified cryptocurrency and supported blockchain network.
The move comes as crypto assets and gambling remain subject to separate regulatory frameworks in South Africa, with crypto assets regulated as financial products and online betting subject to gambling licensing requirements.
Supabets’ terms state that the cryptocurrency amount is based on the prevailing exchange rate, while applicable conversion fees are shown before payment. Deposits are credited after the required blockchain confirmations, and cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible once confirmed.
The terms also state that cryptocurrency conversion, settlement and compliance services are performed by licensed third-party partners. Supabets is licensed by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator and says its online betting services are governed by South African law.
