Sun International launches Electric 8s Blackjack Table Game, a first for South Africa

South Africa.- Sun International has rolled out Electric 8s, an exclusive new blackjack variant and the first of its kind in South Africa, marking a major leap in table-game innovation. The game introduces a high-energy bonus wheel triggered by special card combinations, including the iconic pair of eights.

Players place a regular blackjack wager and can opt for the Electric 8s side bet, also exclusive to Sun International. When certain card combinations hit, the bonus wheel activates, delivering instant rewards of up to 100× the side bet and adding a new layer of excitement to traditional blackjack.
Launch and rollout
Electric 8s debuted in late October at Time Square in Pretoria, GrandWest in Cape Town, and Carnival City in Johannesburg. In November, the rollout continued to Sun City (Rustenburg), Flamingo Casino (Richards Bay), Windmill Casino (Benoni), Wild Coast Sun (Eastern Cape), Boardwalk Casino (Port Elizabeth) and Meropa Casino (Polokwane). The next launch is scheduled for Sibaya Casino in KwaZulu-Natal.
The launch underscores Sun International’s ongoing investment in land-based casino innovation, enhancing player engagement through new bonus features and interactive gameplay.
