The Foundations says the event will feature more than 30 global experts, policymakers, and industry leaders.
South Africa.- The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF) has unveiled its set of speakers for the Responsible Gambling Summit, set to be held on November 13-14 at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park.
The speaker roster includes Lungile Dukwana, Acting Chief Executive of the National Gambling Board (NGB), Nkoatse Mashamaite, the NGB’s Chief Compliance Officer, Shelton Pagiwa, NGB’s Chief Technology Officer, Miranda Guliashivli, SOFTSWISS’ Head of rRgional Growth, and Samantha Berry, Vice President of Product Integrity and Regulatory Services at Sportradar.
Overall, SARGF says the event will feature more than 30 global experts, policymakers and industry leaders who will share insights on responsible gambling practices. The summit will also include two panel discussions: one on innovation, technology and responsible gambling, and another on understanding gambling behaviour and related psychological issues.
The two-day event will conclude with the Responsible Gambling Awards and a gala dinner, celebrating achievements in harm reduction. Previous summits have laid a strong foundation for these efforts. The 2023 event, held in Cape Town and hosted by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB), focused on preventing harmful behaviours, featuring sessions such as Alpheus Matlala’s on advanced treatment techniques.
The 2024 summit advanced regulatory consistency, earning the WCGRB an award for its initiatives. These events have produced results such as securing over R40m (€2.08m) in funding for the National Responsible Gambling Programme (NRGP), increasing free counselling services and encouraging operators to implement AI tools to combat risks like underage gambling.
