PMU Mali advances horse-racing betting rollout with new payment terminals
The operator is introducing TPE terminals for retailers following the launch of its ALR pre-race betting service, while existing partner terminals will remain operational.
Mali.- Mali’s state-owned gaming and betting operator, PMU Mali, is introducing new electronic payment terminals (TPEs) for retailers supporting its horse-racing betting operations.
The ALR PMU Mali platform became operational on July 14. In a statement published on its official Facebook page, PMU Mali said each retailer would receive a TPE to facilitate transactions linked to the service, with the terminals to be deployed progressively according to a schedule established by its Commercial Department.
ALR, or “Avant La Réunion” (Before the Race Meeting), refers to PMU Mali’s horse-racing betting network, operated through its retail outlets. PMU Mali said the new terminals are intended to facilitate transactions linked to ALR and improve the quality of services provided to customers.
The operator stressed that the new TPEs “will not replace payment terminals of other partners”, adding that those existing devices “will remain fully operational.”
The move follows PMU Mali’s expansion of its retail network, with new betting outlets opened in Kayes on July 10 and Mahina on July 25. The Mahina outlet has three betting counters for customers to follow live races and place wagers.
The latest move therefore adds payment equipment to PMU Mali’s expanding retail network while keeping existing partner terminals in operation.
