North West gambling regulator concludes 2025 with staff appreciation meeting

The regulator recognised employees who have given 5-15 years of service.

South Africa.- The North West Gambling Board (NWGB) has concluded its 2025 calendar with a final staff meeting at Mmabatho Palms Casino in Mahikeng. The meeting, held on December 13, provided a platform for the board to reflect on achievements, appreciate long-serving staff and prioritise employee wellbeing ahead of year-end closure.

The regulator recognised employees who have given 5-15 years of service, and played a vital role in advancing its mandate and promoting responsible gambling practices.

The meeting also included a practical session where staff learned hands-on techniques for managing stress and promoting mental wellbeing. Health insurance providers were on hand to provide information on different medical insurance options, and answer health-related enquiries.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Boitumelo Qalinge praised staff for their teamwork and urged them to maintain their momentum and keep working together to achieve greater success in 2026. He said the coming year holds new opportunities for progress and development for the board, and asked staff to remain focused, agile and united in pushing the organisation forward.
