North West Gambling Board finalises 2025/26 financial reports
The ratification took place during the Board’s first official meeting in Klerksdorp.
South Africa.- The North West Gambling Board has approved its Annual Performance Report and Annual Financial Statements (AFS) for the 2025/26 financial year ahead of submission to the Auditor-General.
The ratification took place during the Board’s first official meeting in Klerksdorp, where members, together with acting chief executive officer Mr Boitumelo Qalinge and executive management, also considered key governance and financial performance matters for the period under review.
Discussions focused on operations for the financial year ending March 31, 2026, including compliance requirements, financial accountability, and service delivery within the province’s gambling sector.
Board chairperson Professor George Nzimeni Malebe welcomed the outcome, noting that the completion of the reports reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to transparency, sound financial management, and legislative compliance.
He commended the collective effort of Board members and management in ensuring the timely completion of the Annual Report and AFS in line with public sector financial management standards.
The documents will be formally submitted to the Auditor-General during a Provincial Treasury handover function at Mmabatho Palms.
The process forms part of the North West Provincial Government’s broader efforts to strengthen financial oversight and promote good governance across departments and public entities.
Once submitted, the financial statements will be assessed by the Auditor-General as part of the province’s wider public sector audit process, with outcomes to be released at a later stage.
