National Gambling Board invites bids for ad hoc grocery supply
The NGB will apply South Africa’s 80/20 preference point system when evaluating compliant bids.
South Africa.- South Africa’s National Gambling Board (NGB) has opened a tender for a supplier to provide groceries to its Pretoria offices on an ad hoc basis under a 12-month contract.
The request for quotation, numbered RFQ 012(2026-2027) – NGB Grocery, was published on August 7, with submissions due by 11:00 on August 17. The contract will cover deliveries to the NGB’s offices at 1085 Francis Baard Street, Hatfield, Pretoria.
Under the arrangement, the appointed supplier will receive monthly orders based on the unit prices submitted in its quotation. The NGB has specified a range of grocery and office refreshment products, including 1-litre bottles of Clover full cream and low-fat milk, 200g packs of Jacobs coffee and Nescafe Classic, and 500g packs of Freshpak Pure Rooibos and Joko teabags.
The required supplies also include 750g packs of Cremora coffee and tea creamer, 2kg packs of Selati Golden Brown Sugar and 2kg packs of Mr. Sheen automatic dishwasher tablets.
Suppliers must be registered on South Africa’s Central Supplier Database before submitting their quotations. Bids must also include completed and signed SBD 4 Bidder’s Disclosure and SBD 6.1 Preference Points Claim forms, together with a valid Tax PIN. Prices submitted by bidders must remain valid for 30 days.
The NGB will apply South Africa’s 80/20 preference point system when evaluating compliant bids. Quotations will first undergo a mandatory compliance assessment, with bidders required to quote for every item listed in the request. Bids that do not cover all required items will not proceed to the price and specific-goals evaluation stage.
The specific-goals component provides up to eight points for black ownership, five points for women ownership, four points for disability ownership and three points for classification as a small, medium or micro enterprise (SMME).
Suppliers must submit their quotations by email to [email protected] before the August 17 deadline. The NGB said it reserves the right not to appoint a service provider and is not required to provide reasons for rejecting a quotation.
