Namibia Gambling Board invites bookmaker and totalisator applicants to licensing workshop
The consultation will cover licensing requirements, compliance obligations and technical assessments of proposed wagering and betting platforms.
Namibia.- Namibia’s gambling regulator has scheduled an industry consultation workshop for applicants seeking bookmaker and totalisator licences under the country’s 2018 gambling law. In a notice issued on September 21, the Gambling Board of Namibia (GBN) announced that the workshop will be held on October 15, 2026, from 09:00 to 16:00 at the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM), Paul Nash Street, Olympia, Windhoek.
According to the GBN, the engagement will focus on the requirements and processes for licensing bookmakers and totalisators under the Gaming and Entertainment Control Act, 2018 (Act No. 13 of 2018). The regulator has invited individuals and businesses that have submitted applications for the two licence categories to attend the session.
The GBN said the workshop will also bring in key gambling regulatory stakeholders to address compliance requirements for licensing and operations. Applicants will have the opportunity to engage with the regulator and these stakeholders, ask questions about the licensing requirements, and submit comments or input on the application investigation process and technical assessment of their proposed betting platforms.
The consultation will also address how the GBN plans to investigate licence applications and assess the technical compliance of the platforms applicants intend to use. The Board said the programme and any materials required for the discussions will be published on its website or made available at its offices at No. 8 Simeon Shixungileni Street, Windhoek.
People and businesses interested in attending must register before the workshop through the GBN’s online registration platform.
