Morocco.- Morocco’s state-owned sports-betting and lottery operator, Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS), has become an institutional partner of the upcoming Casablanca Marathon, following its earlier partnership with Campus Fair. The two initiatives reflect MDJS’s involvement in promoting sports participation and supporting youth development alongside its core betting and lottery activities.

The 17th Casablanca Marathon is scheduled for October 25, 2026 and is expected to attract around 15,000 participants from 60 countries, making it one of Morocco’s major mass-participation running events. This year’s edition has received World Athletics Elite Label recognition, with organisers targeting 20,000 participants by 2030.

“Through its commitment as an institutional partner, MDJS reaffirms its support for initiatives that contribute to promoting sports participation and raising the profile of sport in Morocco,” the operator said in a LinkedIn post.

MDJS operates sports betting and sports-related lottery products. It supports the development of sport in Morocco by transferring all its financial results to the National Fund for Sports Development (FNDS), which funds sports federations, supports high-level Moroccan athletes and finances sports infrastructure.

The marathon partnership comes alongside MDJS’s recent institutional partnership with Campus Fair, an international higher-education fair that brought together more than 100 institutions from France, Spain, Canada and Morocco. The event took place in Rabat on October 7, Casablanca on October 10-11 and Marrakech on October 14, giving young people opportunities to explore study options and future careers.

The fair highlighted careers in sport and professional opportunities linked to Morocco’s ambitions for 2030, reflecting MDJS’s engagement with initiatives connecting youth development and the sports sector.
