Mauritius Loto sales surge 28% as Lottotech profit jumps 58%

Loto and Loto Plus ticket sales increased following a December 2025 price revision, while Lottotech reported MUR995m in first-half revenue and MUR469m for Mauritius’ Consolidated Fund.

Mauritius.- Lottotech, the operator of Mauritius’ National Lottery, reported 28 per cent growth in Loto and Loto Plus ticket sales in the first half of 2026, while its profit after tax increased 58 per cent to MUR106m (US$2.25m).

Lottotech reported MUR995m (US$21.08m) in revenue for the six months ended June 30, up 26 per cent from MUR792m (US$16.78m) in the corresponding period of 2025. Operating profit increased 66 per cent to MUR134m (US$2.84m), while earnings per share rose 55 per cent to MUR0.31, according to Lottotech’s Abridged Unaudited Consolidated Financial Statements for the quarter and six months ended June 30 2026, issued on August 7.

The company said the results were “primarily driven by the continued success of the Loto and Loto Plus games”, which recorded a 28 per cent increase in ticket sales compared with the first half of 2025.

Lottotech said the increase was “principally attributable to the ticket price revision implemented on December 18 2025”, together with sustained player participation and favourable jackpot activity.

The December changes increased the price of a Loto bet from MUR20 (US$0.42) to MUR30 (US$0.64), while Loto Plus increased to MUR20 (US$0.42). The minimum Loto jackpot rose from MUR5m (US$105,900) to MUR8m (US$169,500), while the Loto Plus minimum increased from MUR3m (US$63,600) to MUR5m (US$105,900). Match 3 payouts also increased to MUR150 (US$3.18) for Loto and MUR100 (US$2.12) for Loto Plus.

The increase was not limited to Loto and Loto Plus. Loto Vert ticket sales rose 12 per cent, while Hot Picks sales increased 72 per cent. Lottotech said the Hot Picks growth reflected its growing popularity and continued strong customer demand.

Lottotech also generated MUR469m (US$9.94m) for Mauritius’ Consolidated Fund, up 26 per cent from MUR372m (US$7.88m) in the corresponding period of 2025. The contribution was recognised within operating profit.

The company generated MUR135.5m (US$2.87m) in net cash from operating activities during the six months, while cash and cash equivalents stood at MUR432.1m (US$9.15m) at June 30, compared with MUR265.9m (US$5.63m) a year earlier.

Lottotech paid MUR74.8m (US$1.58m) in dividends during the period, compared with MUR44.2m (US$936,000) in the first half of 2025. The final dividend for the 2025 financial year was declared on March 6 2026 and paid on April 27 2026.

The operator is now preparing for the next stage of its lottery technology upgrade. Lottotech has commenced a lottery-terminal replacement programme and expects to complete the rollout of a new generation of terminals by mid-2027. The company said the programme will enhance the reliability, security and efficiency of its retail network while supporting future product innovation and digital capabilities.
