Mauritius Gambling Regulatory Authority steps in to assist bettors after betting operator’s licence expires
The regulator has set specific dates for bettors to collect outstanding winnings and other refunds.
Mauritius.- Mauritius’s Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) has stepped in to assist bettors with outstanding winnings and applicable refunds following the expiry of MACH Book Co Ltd’s licence to offer fixed-odds betting at Champ de Mars on Mauritian horse racing.
In a communiqué dated August 25, the GRA confirmed that MACH Book Co Ltd no longer holds a valid licence to offer fixed-odds betting at Champ de Mars.
The GRA said bettors who have not yet collected winnings from the “eighth, ninth or 10th race days of the 2026 horse-racing season” should visit the MACH Book Co Ltd stand at Champ de Mars on the designated dates to collect outstanding winnings and applicable refunds.
The communiqué reads: “The stand will be exceptionally open on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 12:00 to 15:30; Monday, September 7, 2026, from 12:00 to 15:30; and Monday, September 21, 2026, from 12:00 to 15:30. It will be open on these dates to honour winning bets and other applicable refunds.”
The development comes as Mauritius implements a broader overhaul of its gambling framework under the Finance Act 2026, which introduces new digital gambling licences, tighter monitoring and revised licensing requirements.
