LONASE contributes 5bn CFA francs to national savings in 2025

Director General Manga attributed the boost in contributions to a 27bn CFA franc (€41.1m) profit in the past year.

Senegal.- Senegal’s lottery operator, The Loterie Nationale Sénégalaise (LONASE), has revealed that it contributed 5bn CFA franc (€7.6m) to national savings in 2025. The information was disclosed in a New Year’s message from the Director General, Dr Toussaint Manga.

Manga attributed the boost in contributions to a 27bn CFA franc (€41.1m) profit in the past year, driven by growing participation in lottery and betting activities across Senegal. Another key contributor was the new 20 per cent tax on player winnings, which came into force in late 2025, which feeds directly into national development funds.

Manga appreciated bettors for playing an active part in driving this result. He said: “This success is also that of our valiant bettors. By contributing 20 percent of their gains, they participate actively in the construction of an inclusive economy. Our joint efforts have raised the colours of the institution high.”

The Director General also praised employees for their role in the company’s strong 2025 finances, citing their dedication and ability to adapt. He stated: “In 2025, your engagement and your resilience have made LONASE and our country shine.”

Looking ahead, Manga called for continued focus on performance and new ideas. He urged: “For this new year, let’s stay the course! Transform this energy into new collective victories. In 2026, reignite the flame of performance and innovation to take our ambitions even further.”
