Four lottery players win big in Burkina Faso in May
Lucky players split more than 163,087,500 CFA francs (€248,625) in winnings while taking part in the Burkinabe Mutual Urban Bet.
Burkina Faso.- The National Lottery Burkinabe (LONAB) has handed out 163,087,500 CFA francs (€248,625) in winnings to four lucky players of the Burkinabe Mutual Urban Bet (PMU’B) in May.
The checks were presented in a special ceremony held at LONAB’s headquarters in Ouagadougou on May 27, 2025, by Technical Advisor Aymar Tiendrebeogo on behalf of the LONAB General Manager.
The winners include Zongo Casimir, a hotelier, who took home 57,354,000 FCFA (€87,435) with a 12,600 FCFA bet (€19) on the 4+1 system on May 14. Leama Tanga Vincent de Paul earned 30,649,500 FCFA (€46,724) on May 18 with a wager of 6,300 FCFA (€9.60). Ourdraogo Yacouba, a welder, claimed 37,499,500 FCFA (€57,167) from his May 9 bet, while Sidibe Seydou won 37,584,500 FCFA (€57,297) with a bet on the same day.
LONAB officials commended the winners during the event and urged them to make the most of their prizes by improving their well-being and caring for their families.
The latest payouts underscore LONAB’s position as a reliable and lucrative gaming platform in Burkina Faso. According to Technical Advisor Aymar Tiendrebeogo, the winnings demonstrate LONAB’s commitment to transparency, fairness and accountability in its gaming operations.
