JSB Sports Betting backs Brave Warriors’ World Cup quest with new donation
The operator’s latest donation reinforces its status as a key corporate ally in Namibian sports development.
Namibia.- Namibian sports betting giant JSB Sports Betting has pledged N$125,000 (€6,000) to support the Brave Warriors’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. The donation was announced alongside other pledges at a Windhoek fundraising gala on August 2, which brought together government leaders, businesses and sports enthusiasts and raised nearly N$1 million (€48,000) in total.
With the latest donation, JSB has reinforced its status as a key corporate ally in Namibian sports development. Over the past two years, the betting operator has emerged as one of the country’s most committed private sector sponsors, supporting national teams, referees and grassroots leagues across multiple disciplines.
In 2023, JSB joined the sponsorship lineup of the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias, Namibia’s national rugby team, helping them prepare for the Rugby World Cup. The company’s support extended further in April 2024, when it pledged N$500,000 (€24,007) to the Namibia Rugby Referees Association, providing match fees and complete kits for officials to help professionalise rugby officiating in the country.
JSB also backed the fast-growing Futsal Namibia First Division League with a N$300,000 (€14,404) sponsorship in January 2024, to support the national team’s debut in the CAF Africa Futsal Cup of Nations.
These strategic investments underscore JSB’s growing dedication to developing sports infrastructure and empowering youth, while also driving brand awareness and credibility in Namibia.
At the fundraising dinner, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah described sport as a catalyst for national pride, youth empowerment and international recognition. She also thanked JSB and other sponsors for their support, which will play a key role in the Brave Warriors’ quest to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said: “We appreciate and value your unwavering support, your commitment and your belief in the potential of our football team. Your contributions are not merely financial; they are an investment in the spirit of our nation, in the aspirations of our youth and in the pride that comes with global representation.”
