Gabon’s state gaming operator launches weekly public engagement drive
GDJ has launched a weekly public engagement initiative as it prepares a new range of games, while outlining its role in Gabon’s gambling sector.
Gabon.- Gabon’s state gaming operator, La Gabonaise des Jeux (GDJ), has launched a weekly public engagement initiative, inviting people to submit questions on its social media page as it establishes its position in the country’s restructured gambling sector.
The operator announced its “Your Questions, Our Answers” initiative in a post on its official Facebook page. GDJ said its teams would answer questions every Wednesday, encouraging users to submit queries in the comments section.
Established in December 2025, GDJ approved its strategic development plan, operating budget, investment budget and internal regulations at its first board meeting on 7 August 2026, setting out the framework for its operational rollout.
In response to the first round of questions about its role, GDJ described itself as Gabon’s public operator responsible for overseeing the country’s entertainment, gambling and money gaming sector. Asked what betting or game formats it planned to offer, the operator said it was preparing a “diverse range of games” that would be available in the coming days.
The public engagement drive follows GDJ’s earlier outline of its priorities for Gabon’s gaming sector. In September, the operator identified four priorities: strengthening security, protecting players, combating illegal practices and contributing to economic development.
