Egypt’s esports summit set to dominate Africa’s gaming scene
Fifth edition of ESS combines online qualifiers and live finals, bringing top players together and uniting North Africa’s esports community.
Egypt.- Egypt will host the premier ESports Summit (ESS) in October, bringing together gamers, fans and the competitive esports community from across North Africa. Under the theme “Built by gamers, for gamers,” ESS has become a hub for competitive gaming, hosting high-stakes tournaments, live finals and cutting-edge production.
The fifth edition of ESS 2025 has established itself as a cornerstone of elite gaming in North Africa, uniting thousands of players across multiple leagues for epic battles and immersive experiences. As one of the largest annual esports events in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, ESS stands out for its innovation, consistently setting the standard for the region’s vibrant esports community.
Organisers said on the official website: “ESS 2025 is bringing back the excitement, the thrilling esports tournaments and competitions and epic battles, along with live crowds and next-level production.”
The event is held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and endorsed by the Egyptian Esports Federation, underscoring its national significance.
Hybrid format brings online play to live finals
This year, ESS adopts a hybrid format, combining online and in-person competitions. Gamers across Egypt can compete in online qualifiers, which kick off on October 6, giving all participants a chance to participate remotely.
The top performers from these virtual rounds will advance to the offline finals at Hassan Mostafa Sports Hall at the end of October, where the in-person event brings live spectators, high-energy production and the full thrill of esports action. This approach allows ESS to maximise participation while delivering the excitement of a major live event.
