eBet reveals it has rejected prize claims tied to underage accounts

Eswatini.- Eswatini betting operator eBet has disclosed that it previously rejected prize claims after discovering that winning accounts had been used by minors.
Dlamini, eBet’s marketing manager, revealed the practice during a prize handover ceremony held at the company’s offices in Swazi Plaza on August 3, marking the third month of an ongoing promotion that runs until September 4.
According to the Eswatini Observer, Dlamini reminded customers that betting is restricted to persons aged 18 and above, urging parents and guardians not to allow children to participate. She also cautioned players against using money meant for school fees, groceries or other essential household needs for betting. “Bet responsibly and never allow anyone under the age of 18 to participate,” Dlamini said.
Three customers received tablets, while seven others won Mobicel smartphones. One of the smartphone winners, Nomcebo Motsa, said the prize would let her keep using the eBet platform. “I am grateful for this prize because anyone can win, but people should always play responsibly,” she said.
eBet has previously said its responsible gambling measures include working with law enforcement and community institutions to address underage and problem gambling in the country.
