Côte d’Ivoire’s lottery honours 55 talents from technology, entrepreneurship, media and sport
LONACI recognises young innovators, entrepreneurs, creatives and sporting figures as part of its 55th-anniversary programme.
Côte d’Ivoire.- The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI) has honoured 55 young talents from sectors spanning technology, entrepreneurship, media, sport, culture and the arts as part of its 55th-anniversary celebrations.
The awards ceremony took place on June 4 at the LONACI “Dramane Coulibaly” Studios in Marcory-Biétry, Abidjan, where the state-owned lottery operator presented “Talent Awalé LONACI” trophies to individuals whose achievements have contributed to the development of Côte d’Ivoire and inspired younger generations.
The initiative forms part of a broader anniversary programme launched by LONACI to commemorate 55 years of operations in Côte d’Ivoire, with celebrations having kicked off in April and continuing throughout June. In a statement following the event, the lottery said it had distinguished “55 young Ivorian talents whose paths and achievements contribute to the radiance of youth and the development of the country.”

LONACI said the programme aims to highlight the achievements of young Ivorians across multiple sectors while encouraging partnerships that can help support their projects.
Speaking during the ceremony, deputy director general Abdoulkarim Ouattara said: “We want to encourage these talents and encourage the commitment of other actors to support their initiatives in order to strengthen their impact within society.”
The event brought together a number of prominent local figures for a panel discussion, including Mariam Coulibaly, director of RTI 2, a television channel operated by Côte d’Ivoire’s state broadcaster, RTI. Other participants included fashion designer Elie Kuame, blogger Edith Brou, actor and producer Franck Vlehi and airline pilot Gertrude Konan.
Participants shared their professional experiences, the challenges they encountered during their careers and the factors that contributed to their success.
