Choplife Gaming set to launch betPawa in Mali following PMU approval

Mobile-first betting giant deepens its West African expansion with sports betting, casino gaming and mobile money integration.

Mali.- Choplife Gaming has secured regulatory approval from Mali’s Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU Mali) to introduce the betPawa brand in the country. The company described the move as a “significant milestone” in its continued expansion across Africa, with Mali becoming the latest addition to its growing footprint in regulated gaming markets.

Under the agreement, Malian players will gain access to betPawa’s mobile-first betting and gaming platform, designed for African users through lightweight technology, localised payment solutions and simplified user experiences. PMU Mali is the country’s state-linked betting operator and licensing body overseeing parts of the regulated gaming sector.

The rollout will include sports betting, instant and online casino games, mobile money payment integrations, fast deposits and withdrawals, responsible gaming tools, as well as local customer support partnerships. The move comes amid rising demand for mobile betting and digital gaming products across Francophone African markets.

Olu Odeneye, chief operations officer of Choplife Gaming, said: “We are excited to bring betPawa to Mali and grateful to PMU Mali for their engagement and confidence throughout the licensing process. Mali is an important market with a vibrant and youthful population, and we look forward to building a long-term, compliant, and locally relevant gaming platform that creates entertainment, jobs, partnerships, and economic value.”

Choplife Gaming said it would work closely with local stakeholders, regulators, payment providers and telecom partners to ensure the platform operates under strong compliance, responsible gaming and consumer protection standards.

The company added that the Mali expansion is expected to support local partnerships, employment opportunities and broader digital economic activity, while aligning with its wider strategy of developing African-focused technology and entertainment platforms tailored to local markets.

Choplife Gaming currently operates licensed betting, casino and instant gaming brands in multiple territories, while betPawa operates sports betting, casino and instant gaming products in several African countries.
