Botswana Gambling Authority promotes responsible gambling at Jwaneng Bush Walk
The Botswana Gambling Authority used one of the country’s largest community gatherings to engage directly with the public on responsible gambling and share information about its role as regulator.
Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority used the annual Desert Bush Walk gathering, held on July 25 in Jwaneng, to promote responsible gambling and raise awareness of the support services available to the public.
The Jwaneng Bush Walk is one of Botswana’s largest community events, attracting participants from across the country and forming part of the country’s wider tourism and economic diversification efforts, according to organisers..
This year’s edition was attended by Botswana president Advocate Duma Boko, senior government officials, community leaders and other dignitaries. The Gambling Authority’s delegation was led by the Authority’s chief executive officer Moruntshi Kemorwale.
The Authority said its participation gave it a platform to engage directly with the public, share information and promote its responsible gambling awareness initiatives across the community. The Authority said its involvement aligns with its broader commitment to responsible gambling and community engagement.
The latest campaign comes days after the regulator conducted a similar responsible gambling outreach at the 2026 Kokotsha July Derby in the Kgalagadi District, reflecting its continued use of community events to engage the public.
