Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority is stepping beyond regulation into national cultural affairs, taking a key role at a Botswana Defence Force (BDF) event that blended heritage, leadership and public engagement.

The Authority’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Moruntshi Kemorwale, served as guest speaker at the BDF Senior Command and Staff Programme 17, Class of 2025, Culture Day held on November 8.

The event, themed “Unity in Diversity: Strengthening Defence Ties Through Cultural Heritage”, brought together future military leaders for a showcase of traditional performances and cultural expression, a setting where the GA used its platform to reinforce its public awareness mission.

The regulator underscored why it participates in initiatives beyond the gaming sector, in a statement. “The Gambling Authority’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting educational and cultural initiatives while providing an opportunity to engage the public on its mandate and to promote responsible gambling practices,” said the GA.
