Betway’s ‘Play on the Pitch’ offers amateur football teams in Africa a trip to Manchester

Amateur and community football teams from Botswana and South Africa can enter for a chance to train at Manchester City’s Etihad Campus and experience world-class coaching.

Botswana.- Betway Africa has launched its exciting “Play on the Pitch” competition, giving amateur and community football teams across Botswana and South Africa a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train at Manchester City’s Etihad Campus. The prize includes world-class coaching, a stadium tour and match-day experiences.

The competition is open to teams across Botswana, where one amateur or community team will travel to Manchester for training, a stadium tour and a match experience. Michelle France‑Mabiletsa, Betway’s Country Manager, said the initiative “captures the spirit of football: teamwork, passion and unforgettable moments” and that the company is excited to give one team the experience of a lifetime in Manchester, according to the Botswana Gazette.

In South Africa, the official competition portal allows teams to submit short videos explaining why they should be selected, with entries judged nationally. “Play on the Pitch at the Etihad Campus in Manchester! Think you’re ready. Enter your community team, and show us your energy,” Betway Africa said, in an official social media post.

The campaign highlights Betway’s focus on grassroots football and community engagement, combining entertainment, local initiatives and unforgettable football experiences.

This dual-country engagement underscores Betway Africa’s strategy of connecting with football communities across Southern Africa, supporting talent development while reinforcing the brand’s presence in the region.
