Betway reinforces its commitment to communities, delivering reliable electricity in Ghana

Ghana.- Betway Ghana is powering communities with the delivery of two solar-powered Power Up units, providing reliable electricity, mobile charging and digital access. The initiative highlights Betway’s role as a socially responsible betting company investing in sustainable development and improving daily life for residents.
Designed as independent energy hubs equipped with solar panels, mobile charging ports and LED lighting, the units provide much-needed support in areas with limited access to reliable grid electricity. The Power Up units were handed over in a ceremony attended by community members and local leaders in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region.
Betway Ghana’s Public Relations and Brand Manager, Michael Agyemang, highlighted the company’s role in community upliftment. “With Power Up, Betway is going beyond entertainment to provide real and lasting solutions. At Betway, we believe access to power and connectivity should not be a privilege but a necessity,” he said, according to the Ghanaian Times.
Giving back to communties
The project is part of Betway’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, delivered under the Betway Cares initiative. By supporting sustainable energy access and digital inclusion, Betway demonstrates how gaming companies can give back to communities in ways that enhance everyday life, while maintaining responsible gaming practices.
Community leaders welcomed the project, highlighting its impact on daily life and education. One local leader said: “For many years, we have lived in darkness. With this support, students can now study in the evenings, which will positively impact their education.”
Through initiatives like this, Betway reinforces its position not only as a leader in the betting industry but also as a socially responsible corporate citizen committed to strengthening communities across Ghana.
