Betify goes live in Eastern Cape
The launch marks a further step in the expansion of regulated online gambling offerings within the province.
South Africa.- The Eastern Cape Gambling Board (ECGB) has announced the launch of Betify, a new online gambling site, in the Eastern Cape. The platform will deliver a mix of casino games and live gaming to local players.
The regulator’s statement read: “The ECGB is happy to announce that Betify has gone live on the Bitville Wagering Recordkeeping System.”
The launch marks a further step in the expansion of regulated online gambling offerings within the province, as the ECGB continues to strengthen oversight and drive growth in the industry through the approval of compliant digital platforms.
The development comes at a time of increased regulatory focus across South Africa, following recent clarification by the National Gambling Board that Remote Gaming Systems (RGS) are not permitted under current legislation. This has prompted operators to align more closely with approved systems and frameworks when introducing online products in the jurisdiction.
Since the national framework supports approved wagering recordkeeping systems, Betify’s rollout through Bitville enables it to operate legally despite the ban on unlicensed online casinos, while ensuring all betting and gaming activity is fully tracked, monitored and compliant with South African regulations.
