Bet9ja Foundation completes over 200 humanitarian projects in 33 Nigerian states

From solar boreholes to scholarships and youth training, Bet9ja Foundation’s impact spreads across Nigeria, reaching more than 65,000 people in just two years.

Nigeria.- In just under two years, the Bet9ja Foundation is proving that betting on humanity pays off. The philanthropic arm of Nigeria’s leading sports betting brand Bet9ja has rolled out a staggering 206 humanitarian projects, stretching across 33 states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

At the heart of this effort is a powerful vision to uplift communities, boost youth potential and inject sustainable development across the country. Executive Director of the Foundation, Ada Cuomo, during a media tour of its sleek new office, laid out just how deep the Foundation’s roots have grown since inception.

“In just about two years, we’ve visited 33 states and impacted about 180 communities,” she said, according to the Punch newspaper.

“Over 180 of our projects fall under five pillars of education, healthcare, community infrastructure and youth empowerment.”

The projects have impacted 65,000 lives

The numbers tell a compelling story – over 65,000 Nigerians were reached through these projects. In regions where clean water was once a dream, solar-powered boreholes now pump life into underserved communities, particularly across the northern belt.

In towns where small businesses struggled, microcredit schemes and entrepreneurial grants have turned things around. And in public universities, the dreams of 100 students are now being realised through dedicated scholarship programs.

“We’ve partnered with different organisations to deliver solar power projects, distribute solar panels and dig water boreholes, especially in the North,” Cuomo explained.

No region has seen more of this impact that the South-West, which boasts 110 completed projects. The South-South follows with 28, and the South-East with 26.

Bootcamps for employment

The Bet9ja Foundation, the corporate social responsibility division of the Bet9ja sportsbook, isn’t just a charity; it’s a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future.

The Bet9ja Foundation has gone beyond handouts, hosting youth summits, running business training sessions and offering employability bootcamps designed to empower and equip.

“We don’t stop at providing support,” Cuomo said.

“We follow up and monitor beneficiaries for six to seven months to ensure they are on track and doing what they set out to do.”

For a foundation just getting started, Bet9ja’s game plan is clear: sustainability, empowerment and real results. And if the first two years are anything to go by, Nigeria’s communities have a powerful ally in their corner.
