Benin National Lottery expands mobile betting through USSD
LNB now lets players place NAP2 bets directly from their mobile phones using new USSD codes.
Benin.- Benin’s National Lottery (LNB) introduced new USSD access for NAP2, a lottery betting option under its Loto 5/90 offering, which became available to players on September 1.
Players can now access NAP2 Simple and NAP2 Perm (PERM2) directly through their mobile phones, with the new betting options currently available, according to 24 Heures au Bénin. Under LNB rules, NAP2 Simple is a two-number bet in which players select two numbers from 1 to 90 and win if both appear among the five numbers drawn, regardless of the order. The base stake is FCFA100 (US$0.17).
The LNB also offers NAP2 Perm (PERM2). Unlike NAP2 Simple, where players select two numbers, PERM2 allows players to play multiple combinations from a larger selection of numbers. The total stake increases with the number of combinations played.
Players can access NAP2 Simple through *590*1#, while NAP2 Perm (PERM2) is available through *590*2#, according to the announcement. The USSD channel is officially allocated to LNB by Benin’s communications regulator, the Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority (ARCEP).
LNB’s official Loto 5/90 information also provides for betting through USSD, allowing players to select a betting format, choose their numbers and stake, and complete the transaction through Mobile Money.
The move follows other recent changes to LNB’s distribution channels. In August 2026, the lottery introduced an additional 8am draw and made its midnight draw available at physical sales points, with both changes taking effect from August 13.
