Angola.- Angola’s Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) has strengthened its direct engagement with the country’s gaming operators through a working visit to Golden Dragon Casino in Luanda. ISJ director general Nerethz Tati toured the casino and met its management to discuss regulatory compliance, responsible gaming and the challenges and opportunities shaping the sector. The engagement was held under the regulator’s “ISJ In Dialogue” initiative, which seeks to strengthen direct communication with gaming operators.

Discussions covered the contribution of gaming activity to Angola’s economy, particularly through revenue generation and employment. The ISJ director general also discussed the conditions needed to support the sustainability of gaming operators. Tati said the expansion of Angola’s gaming sector must be accompanied by compliance with regulatory requirements and responsible operating practices. She also stressed the need for gaming operators to create value for society as the industry develops.

Responsible gaming was another issue addressed during the meeting. The ISJ emphasised the importance of informing customers about responsible gaming and implementing practices that support a safe gaming environment. Tati said regular engagement with operators is important for identifying industry challenges and addressing them to support sustainable sector growth.

Representing the InterContinental Hotel, manager Mário Ferreira thanked the ISJ for the visit and said the engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional cooperation between the hotel, its gaming operation and the regulator.
