Alea plans to scale in Africa, merging data, content and igaming expertise
Game aggregator Alea set to expand in Africa, bringing 16,000+ games, sharp data, and business consultancy to fuel the continent’s growing online casino market.
South Africa – Global game aggregator Alea is placing its chips on Africa’s digital casino revolution, unveiling an ambitious expansion strategy targeting the continent’s fast-evolving igaming sector.
Alea’s Chief Operating Officer, Ramon Glieneke, made it clear in a YouTube video uploaded on April 15, 2025. He said: “Africa is more than just another emerging market, it’s the market to watch. We are really happy to be here. It’s an important market for us – Africa. We’ve been growing here since last year…because we see huge potential in this market.”
And Alea isn’t just showing up, they’re suiting up. Known for delivering over 16,000 games from 160+ providers through a single API, Alea isn’t offering a cookie-cutter solution. Their approach is customised, data-driven, and built on years of experience in global emerging markets.
“Our core business is aggregation,” Glieneke explained.
“With one API connection, [operators] can access more than 160 game providers around the world and more than 16,000 games.”
Guiding casinos also on the cards
But Alea isn’t stopping at content delivery. Armed with real-time data, the company acts as both game supplier and strategic consultant, guiding casinos on what content to feature and when. And in a continent as diverse as Africa, hyper-localisation is king.
“For Europeans, we often talk about Africa like it’s a single country but it’s a huge continent. The behaviour of casino players varies a lot from East to West, North to South – even from country to country,” he explained.
Alea’s method? Local data meets global expertise. The team is actively gathering behavioural insights across regions from Egypt to South Africa to tailor content to the tastes and regulations of each market. With younger demographics and surging mobile penetration, Africa’s igaming future is looking like a jackpot in the making.
“We’re also a business partner for online casinos,” Glieneke emphasized.
“We help them choose high-performing games from the very beginning.”
While Alea currently operates exclusively in the online space, it’s not ignoring traditional land-based casinos. As more brick-and-mortar venues explore digital transformations, Alea is offering a guiding hand.
“We’re purely online, but we know how land-based words,” said Glieneke.
“We help them perform from day one because starting an online operation is a real investment.”
