Operators roll out dedicated betting markets, tournament hubs and match analysis as WAFCON 2026’s expanded 16-team tournament unfolds in Morocco with a record US$5.8m prize fund.
Morocco.- Sportsbooks are expanding their offering for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON 2026), launching dedicated tournament hubs, betting markets and match analysis as the tournament’s group stage unfolds in Morocco.
The 14th edition of WAFCON 2026, which kicked off in Morocco on July 26 and runs until August 16, marks the first 16-team finals in the history of Africa’s premier women’s football tournament. The larger format increases the number of fixtures, giving sportsbooks more matches to price and bettors more opportunities to engage throughout the group stage and knockout rounds.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has also increased WAFCON 2026’s prize money to record levels. The winners will receive US$2m, while the total prize fund has risen to a record US$5.8m. Runners-up will earn US$750,000, with the third-placed team receiving US$500,000, reflecting CAF’s continued investment in women’s football.
With the group stage nearing its decisive phase, all 16 teams have now begun their WAFCON 2026 campaigns, with defending champions Nigeria, hosts Morocco, South Africa, Ghana, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and Algeria among the nations competing for places in the knockout rounds.
Several operators have broadened their WAFCON 2026 offering. In South Africa, Hollywoodbets has published dedicated previews and betting analysis for Banyana Banyana’s matches, while SportyTrader has created a comprehensive tournament hub featuring match predictions, betting guides and odds comparisons from bookmakers including Bet365 and LSbet.
Beyond dedicated WAFCON 2026 content, major licensed sportsbooks operating in Africa, including Betway and Supabets, also offer football betting markets covering international competitions, with WAFCON 2026 fixtures available alongside domestic leagues and other global events.
The wider betting offering reflects the competition’s larger format and growing visibility, with bettors able to access outright winner, top goalscorer, match winner, handicap, correct score, over/under goals and live betting markets throughout the tournament.
Africa’s largest-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations has seen sportsbooks expand their betting offering around the competition’s inaugural 16-team finals and record US$5.8m prize fund.
