Adelaide Casino begins renovations
The Australian casino has started its US$210 million redevelopment as part of a move to revitalise the city.
Australia.- SkyCity Entertainment Group, the company in charge of the redevelopment of Adelaide Casino, revealed that the construction work to redevelop the facility has started and that it is expected to be completed in 2020.
The US$210million work is part of a strategy to revitalise Adelaide’s Riverbank area and is scheduled to be completed in the next year and a half. The facility will have a new hotel and spaces as well as a proposed expanded building with a 123-room addition.
Moreover, there will be a casino refurbishment, which will see the introduction of new VIP gaming facilities, as well as three additional bars, three new signature restaurants and an entertainment space.
Last month, Premier Steven Marshall said the expansion will grow the state’s economy: “[The new hotel] will equal the best in Australia, if not be above it for this type of facility.” Moreover, Adelaide Casino general manager Luke Walker also said that the casino redevelopment will help South Australia: “The South Australian tourism industry has so much to offer interstate and international visitors, and the introduction of this new facility, complete with luxury hotel accommodation, outstanding food and beverage offerings and world-class entertainment spaces will help to attract high-end visitors to the vibrant Riverbank Precinct and to the state.”
