US.- Steve Wynn has already stepped down as CEO of Wynn Resorts after sexual misconduct allegations were made against him, but the company is still investigating the scandal, recently hiring law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP to further look into Mr Wynn’s alleged conduct.
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher joins a legal committee comprised of independent company directors which will take an “expanded and comprehensive review” of Wynn Resorts’ internal policies and procedures with the goal of “ensuring the company employs best practices to maintain a safe and respectful workplace for all employees”, Wynn Resorts explained in a statement.
The company has further explained that the board will start a process to add further directors in order “to strengthen [its] composition, skills and experience.”
Despite resigning as head of the company, Steve Wynn strongly denied the allegations against him and said: “The idea that I ever assaulted any woman is preposterous (…) We find ourselves in a world where people can make allegations, regardless of the truth, and a person is left with the choice of weathering insulting publicity or engaging in multi-year lawsuits. It is deplorable for anyone to find themselves in this situation.”
