Vietnam PM considers local’s participation

The Prime Minister of Vietnam is considering the possibility to allow local residents to enter the Grand Ho Tram casino.

Vietnam.- The Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc has reportedly met his advisors yesterday to talk about the possibility to allow locals inside the casino located at Grand Ho Tram.

The news were revealed by Augustine Vinh during a panel session on local gambling at the Global Gaming Expo G2E Asia on Tuesday, as reported by AGBrief. The government of the Prime Minister has allowed Vietnamese residents to enter casino venues since mid-March, but local players have not massively embraced their new right. According to regional newspaper Lao Dong, Vietnamese citizens are not well-guided about the new measure, which is set to finish next month. The Vietnamese official has been showing signs of interest in expanding the gaming industry for quote some time now, and it is expected that a new decision will take place in the next few days, as revealed during the conference.

Casino operators have been waiting for an official statement by the government in order to allow residents to enter. Companies expect the pilot scheme to accomplish the government’s target in order to operate a wider market.
