Trial in lottery jackpot-fixing case delayed to July
Eddie Tipton was scheduled to stand trial January 6 th in Iowa, but a judge delayed it.
US.- The trail of the Former Multi-State Lottery Association security director Eddie Tipton has been delayed according to judicial decision and will take place on July 18th.
The former lottery official is accused of fixing jackpots in several US states and had been scheduled to stand trial on Jan 6th in Des Moines, Iowa . However, his attorney asked for a delay. Tipton has pleaded not guilty to charges of ongoing criminal conduct and money laundering, but last July the accused was indeed convicted of fraud for fixing a $16.5 million Hot Lotto jackpot in Iowa.
According to the prosecutors, Tipton allegedly used his access to random number generators to fix jackpots in several US states, such as Colorado, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Kansas. He supposedly had help from other associates in order to play winning numbers and collect prizes.
