Pennsylvania is focused on iGaming now

An online gaming legislation has advanced through the Pennsylvania Legislature process.

US.- The iGaming industry is near a final approval in Pennsylvania as the Senate has passed the legislation to allow gaming expansion. During yesterday’s session, legislators decided to move forward with the online gaming project, which includes legislation on the online version of state’s lottery and casinos.

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives as well as the Senate are compromised to develop a legal and comprehensive gaming legislation to enhance local economy, job opportunities and community programs. According to the Trib Live newspaper, the approved bill would also grant operating permissions at eight state’s airports, including Arnold Palmer Regional Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport.

An expanded gaming industry in Pennsylvania would generate between US$109 million and US$146 million during its first year of legalisation. Legislators are also discussing further gaming laws to fix the tax distribution of land-based casino revenues and to allow daily fantasy sports operations.

“This reflects what we felt, that we had the votes to pass and move on to the House for further discussions,” commented to the Trib Live Jennifer Kocher, spokeswoman for Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman, R-Centre. Sen. Kim Ward, R-Hempfield added: “I have not at all given up on trying to take better care of the counties that don’t have a casino and get any of that gaming money.”
