Paradise City opened its doors

The facility became the first integrated resort to open its doors in South Korea.

South Korea.- Yeongjongdo experienced the opening of the first integrated resort from the country after Paradise City opened its doors to the public yesterday morning. The casino is set to attract players from all over Asia.

As reported by Yonhap News, Paradise Group chairman Jeon Phillip said in a media briefing that Paradise City has been the best challenge for their company as the first mover of the tourism industry. “We’ll make sure the resort complex becomes a key destination of ‘hallyu’ for everyone in the world to enjoy, which we hope will serve to upgrade the national pride in the end,” added. The first phase of the foreigner-only casino features 154 tables, along with 281 slot machines, 62 electronic table games and 22 junket tables. Specialists estimate that Paradise City will experience a 6.2 percent year-on-year decline in the number of Chinese high rollers in 2017.

Shin Im-chul, marketing director for Paradise Sega Sammy, said to the Korea Herald that the target VIP visitors from China are not affected by the Chinese travel ban because they do not travel with big tourist groups, meaning that they will be less affected by the conflict compared to other industries such as the duty-free industry.
