Oklahoman tribe plans new casino

Ponca Tribe, which used to operate two facilities in the state, is planning the construction of a new casino.

US.- The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma is reportedly planning a new casino east of Enid, at Interstate 35 and US 412. Whilst the City Manager said that no plans have been announced, the tribe recently posted an advertisement seeking applicants for a gaming executive director’s position for a new casino.

“Ponca Tribe gaming executive director’s position for new Casino that will be located at I35 & 412. The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma is currently accepting applications and resumes for the position,” read the advertisement from the tribe. Local media reported that no more information was released by the tribe, and that Enid Regional Development Alliance Executive Director Brent Kisling indicated that the entity didn’t receive any information about it.

City Manager Jerald Gilbert said: “I am not aware of any casino plans.” The tribe that has 3.5k members is located in North central Oklahoma and has previously operated two other gambling facilities in Ponca City, but they’re both closed now.
