DFS next conquest: Texas

The legislative session will reopen the debate next year.

US.- Richard Pena Raymond, Democrat member of the Texas House of Representatives, made public his intentions to legalise daily fantasy sports under the label of games of skill. With further regulations, Texas could become the next state to permit the operations of the highly acclaimed betting sector.

The first attempt to regularise daily fantasy sports was made earlier this year, but the bill was postponed for the next legislative session. After the latest comments of members of the House of Representatives, DFS operators and players keep their hopes.

Raymond stated that fantasy football and fantasy sports in general are a game of skill and not one of chance. The debate is alive countrywide, with several states backing the opinion of Raymond. Daily fantasy sports are already legal in 12 States, most of them have regularised the sector during this year.
