Maryland Live! Casino and Hotel will be inaugurated in 2018, according to the operating company.

US.- Maryland Live! Casino and Hotel will inaugurate its first hotel level by 2018, as its operator, Cordish Global Gaming reported yesterday. Maryland Live! Casino is one of the most profitable gaming centers of the state and the operators recently announced this year’s plan of expansion for the exclusive venue, which has already started.

Maryland Live! Casino and Hotel is expanding its exclusive offerings with a 17-story hotel tower (310 rooms and suites) and touristic attractions, such as spas and restaurantes. As Press Box Online reported last Wednesday, the company confirmed that the first level of the tower, which would include the lobby, the spa, the parking garage and the events centers, will be opened in the first quarter of 2018.

“We’re about 50-percent done and at this point we’re about to start building the actual rooms,” confirmed Rob Norton, president of Cordish Global Gaming, to the Press Box Online. The expansion project will require an initial investment of approximately US$200 million. “We’ve already spent tens of millions of dollars to build what we have to date, and at the end of the day, this will be over a $200 million project and we’ll be doing a lot of local sourcing within the community with women- and minority-owned businesses,” added Norton.
