Macau casino law revision is imminent

The petition to add some amendments into Macau’s gambling law is now supported by labour groups.

Macau.- Casino labour groups in Macau revealed that 77 percent of 3,044 casino workers who were interviewed are in favor of a casino law revision. The petition was expressed during the meeting with the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau –DCIJ–.

The imminent revision of the Law No. 10/2012 –“Regulating the Conditions of Entering, Working, and Gaming Casinos”– would ban gaming workers from participating in casino activities during their free time.

As employee organisations suggested, the new amendment would provide a safer space for workers and for the gaming atmosphere in general. Authorities could pay further attention at negative influences affecting the community as a result of exposure to gaming.
