Lawrence Ho criticises former partner Crown

The Macau operator has complained about Crown’s James Packer’s marketing campaigns in China.

Macau.- Casino mogul and CEO of Melco International, has criticised his former business partner James Packer, CEO of Crown Resorts, for being aggressive when engaging with employees in China despite the ban on gambling marketing, as Financial Times said.

During an interview with the news outlet, Ho said that in the instances where Crown employees were arrested in China suspected of illegal marketing gambling, Packer’s side wasn’t discreet at all. The CEO said that he recommended lawyers to Crown, but didn’t wanna get involved since the marketing activities of the formerly merged companies were separate business. Despite the interview, Financial Times said that a spokesman for Lawrence Ho specified that the comments weren’t exclusively about Crown, but the industry overall.

Last October, 18 employees of the casino company Crown were arrested under allegedly “gambling-related crimes,” the Justice system hasn’t approved the release of all of the workers yet.
