Italy reports poker performance

PokerStars is still the leading company when it comes to poker in the European country.

Italy.- The Southern Europe country reported its December poker results, which once again saw PokerStars leading the list of main operators. The biggest poker company in the world was the only operator that managed to get double digits in the categories.

The company captured commanding shares in tournaments with an impressive 74.4 percent and 46.4 percent in cash games, becoming the only operator to reach that accomplishment. During December, PokerStars’ tournament share reached a 8.2 percent higher performance compared to the same period in 2015. On the other hand, cash game was down 6 percent, and the overall online poker market experienced a fall in its performance again: December’s tournaments totaled US$7.6 million, and cash games reported US$6.8 million, whilst the 2016 overall tournament staked performance was down by 2.4 percent to US$73.8 million and cash games declined 9.8 percent.

During the second quarter of 2016, online poker showed a 7.7 percent growth reaching US$4.96 million for May 2016. There was also an 18.6 percent increase in tournament earnings to US$43.33 million compared to the same period a year before.
