Irish casino is delayed again

Irish authorities have rejected the casino proposal Tullamore once again last week.

Ireland.- Irish authorities have revealed that the Bord Pleanála, an independent judicial office  of Ireland, has rejected the Tullamore casino proposal once again last week. The Irish town aims at becoming a casino host as allowing a current hotel operator to expand its services with a new gaming salon.

A proposal was presented along with the Offaly County Council to build a casino in Ireland back in November. The original plan consisted of building an 86 room hotel in Tullamore’s centre at Water Lane and Distillery Lane. The casino has been refusing planning permission mainly because it would allegedly have a “profound negative impact on the appearance and visual amenity of the streetscape of Tullamore.” According to local media, the proposal made by Bridge House Hotel would also “conceal from view the historic nature of the industrial Malt House,” and it also didn’t have enough parking options.

Along with the casino, the proposal also included an hotel, three retail units, a restaurant, a bad, a conference center, and a bridge which is set to link the hotel with the Bridge House Hotel. The Republic of Ireland is one of the countries from the Islands that currently offer gambling services.
