Hollywood Park Casino confirms opening

The new Inglewood casino confirmed its grand opening for October 21 and a US$1 million giveaway in prizes.

US.- The Hollywood Park Casino will open its doors to the public on Friday, and will be giving away more than US$1 million in prizes. The Inglewood casino will also give away its first 1000 patrons a chance to win commemorative coins and memorabilia. The casino that initially opened in 1994 will also host a poker tournament on October 22.

In the last couple of years, neighboring casinos invested millions to upgrade their facilities, resulting in big losses for the Hollywood Park Casino. The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens and the San Miguel Band of Mission Indians spent US$50 million to renovate and increase the size of their facilities. Hollywood Park Casino ownerss Stockbridge Capital Group decided to make a major investment and relocate the casino to a bigger and better facility next door.

Deven Kumar, general manager of the Hollywood Park Casino, said: “Revitalising this facility, with all of its history and memories, will make it the premier casino and entertainment destination in Southern California. This revitalisation plan brings with it more jobs, new properties for residents and visitors to enjoy and explore, as well as increased revenue for our city: all without using any tax dollars for any of the construction. It’s a win-win for Inglewood.”

Built in 10.6 acres and with a gaming floor of 110,000 square feet, 65 California tables, 60 poker tables and 20 percent increase in VIP gaming area, the new facility is 40 percent bigger than the old facility.
