US.- The Muscogee (Creek) Nation native tribe announced the opening of new venues inside their River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The expansion of the luxurious casino and hotel required the investment of US$365 million and created over 1,000 new job positions.

The River Spirit Casino Resort expects the development of tourism industry with the opening of its Margaritaville restaurant and casino. “A lot of people, until they come to Tulsa and northeast Oklahoma, think it is flatlands and ‘The Grapes of Wrath,’” Pat Crofts, CEO of Muscogee (Creek) Nation Casinos, commented. “But once they get here, it kind of sells itself.”

The expansion of the gaming centre includes a new River Spirit entrance, a Jimmy Buffet-inspired Margaritaville restaurant and bar, a casino, a 2,500-seat-plus theater and a convention center and a 27 story hotel. The new Margaritaville restaurant added a faux volcano that spews lava into a giant blender, as well as a second-level wraparound deck that overlooks the casino.
