Casinos in Ohio report good results

July was good month for casinos in the Buckeye State, as revenue was almost US$4 million higher than in 2016.

US.- The Ohio Casino Control Commission released its monthly report where it was revealed that statewide casino revenue was US$69.9 million last month, up from the US$66 million registered in July 2016.

Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park, the usual top scorer among the four casinos and seven racinos in the state, registered its best month in history with US$22.3 million in revenue in July, cleveland.com reported. Whilst Jack Cleveland Casino’s revenue was US$16.9 million, a 13 percent increase from June, last month’s results are smaller than the ones registered during the same period a year before, specially because this year the casino hosted the Republican National Convention and saw fewer visitors.

According to the monthly report from the local control commission, revenue from Hard Rock and the other casinos helped reach a statewide revenue of US$84.5 million for the Ohio Lottery Commission, the second higher month of revenue for the entity. Last month, Ohio Lottery reported a US$1 billion profit for the second year, as it was particularly boosted by Keno and EXPlay QuicKeno and their high sales.
