Caesars presents IR proposal to Osaka

An executive VP of Caesars said that the company submitted an IR proposal to the government of Osaka.

Japan.- Jan Jones Blackhurst, executive VP of public policy and corporate responsibility at Caesars Entertainment, announced that the company submitted a plan to build an integrated resort at Yumeshima Island, Osaka to the local prefectural and city governments.

Whilst the integrated resort proposal was submitted to government officials, the Japanese city still has to invite operators to present their ideas. As local media reported, Blackhurst said that the size of the investment will be subject to the business conditions in the country, but that the company hasn’t set a limit. The official also confirmed that Caesars is one of the eight international operators that participated in the RFI process carried away by Tomakomai, Hokkaido.

Last week, Caesars revealed that William Shen is the new managing director and representative officer of Caesars Entertainment Japan. The company is preparing its team among talks of an integrated resort license in Japan. Shen will be the executive responsible for Caesars’ overall efforts in Japan at the company’s office in Roppongi, Tokyo. The official has been in charge of Caesars’ operations in South Korea and will continue his work with the IR project in Incheon. In September, Yusuke Watanabe was named as the new head of Japan business development and vice president of Asia development.

During an interview with AGBrief, Shen said that the Osaka IR plan is centered around three pillars of Wellness, MICE, and Entertainment.
